Well this was an unusual Mother's Day. I took the kids to McDonalds and let them run themselves ragged in the germ place. I mean play place. Then we spend a whopping 10 minutes at Joanns, 2 of that was picking out coloring books for being good. Then we had ice cream and went home where the kids took a bath and went to bed. Yes, that is right, they had ice cream for supper. I am that good of a mother. My 4 year old said we should go there every day. Greg had to work, so it was all me most of the day (he works 2:30 to 11 on the weekends.)
Then today I got my first flowers from the kids. Nora brought me three dandelions with the fluff blown off and said "what's this mommy? From me!" I had to laugh, how adorable is that? She's been so good with the potty, only a couple of accidents. One while I was helping the UPS man bring in the 15 rolls of fabric he delivered this morning and wasn't there to get her to the potty in time.
I also decided today to dig out my 35MM pentex camera. I didn't buy it, it was found in the laundry room of our house a few months after we moved in. We have no idea how to find the old owner and I really doubt he ever used it. It's a surprisingly good camera for how old it is. I loved it for a while until we got a digital. Our neighbor works for Pentex so he got us a really good deal on a very expensive little pocket sized digital, which I thought would blow the old manual out of the water. Apparently I don't know anything about cameras. It's taken me lots of reading and time to realize that it's not necessarily me that suddenly can't take pictures, it might just be the camera! Nothing ever looks in the picture like I see it in my head, like it used to with the manual. Someday I plan on buying a good Nikon D60, but for now I will go back to the manual and return to the basics. I found it a couple of days ago while looking in Nora's closet for another picture and suddenly remembered how much I loved using it. I'm excited to buy film again, maybe I'll post a picture of that awesome handbag I got today!
